Players will be able to access the scoreboard and see progress during the day, see links above.

If you signed up for a game, please be present at the court/field at the correct time to keep us on schedule, especially for Volleyball and Capture the Flag as they are happening at the same time. Please refer to the timestamps below. Fishbowl will not be counted in our tournament.

    Volleyball (12:00PM – 3:30 PM)

Teams: 6 players on court at all times. At least 1 female must be on the court for each team at all times.

Time: 35 minute game, with 5 minute transition

Scoring: Rally scoring to 25 points OR when 35 minutes is up, win by 2. Best of 3 sets if time allows. Points only scored when serving in volleyball.

    Rotation: Rotate after each point.

Boundaries: Balls landing on boundary lines are in. If unsure, replay the point.

Conduct: Good sportsmanship is expected; no arguing with referees

    Capture the Flag (12:00PM - 3:30PM)

Teams: 8 players per team on the field at a time.

Time: ~15 min per game with 5 min transition

Objective: Capture the opposing team’s flag and return it to your own base without being tagged.

Tagging: If tagged on the opponent's side, go to the designated “jail” until freed by a teammate’s tag.

Boundaries: Stay within the marked play area; leaving the area results in returning to your side.

Winning: Team with the most captures after time expires wins.

Teams: 6 players per team per round.

Format: Single round per matchup; best pull wins.

Start: Rope is centered with a marker over the starting line. Referee will give “Ready… Pull!”

Winning: Pull the opposing team’s marker past your side’s line.

Safety: No wrapping rope around hands or bodies; use proper grip to avoid injury.

    Trivia (4:45 PM – 5:30 PM)

Teams: All team members may participate.

Format: 20 questions total, varying difficulty.

    Scoring:

    1. Easy question = 1 point
    2. Medium question = 2 points
    3. Hard question = 3 points

    Rules:

    1. No cell phones or outside help.
    2. Answers must be written and turned in before time runs out.
    3. No sudden-death round; total points determine the winner.
  • Parking

Location: PCH & Brookhurst by the volleyball courts.

Please note that in previous years, the wait time to park in the beach lot has been up to an hour or more. I’ve been informed that construction is currently taking place in the lot closest to our area, which will further limit parking availability. As a result, you may be redirected to a more distant lot.

We have scheduled check-in for 10:30 AM specifically to accommodate these potential delays. Games will begin promptly at 12:00 PM, so all team members, especially those playing volleyball first, must be checked in and ready to go by then.

Given the expected wait times, parking distance, and other possible delays, we strongly encourage everyone to arrive early to ensure a smooth start.
