This year, we will be hosting Advent Missions in English and Spanish with visiting priests who will guide us into the spirit of the season with inspirational talks and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Please join us as we prepare to welcome our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, this Christmas season!

On December 11th, right before our annual patronal Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with the all-night long celebrations that are our tradition here, we will be graced with the presence of Fr. Gastón Mendiola-Arroyo, parochial vicar at La Purísima Church in Orange, who will speak of Mary’s role in preparing us for Advent and Christmas, with a one-evening Advent Mission beginning at 8:30pm (his talk will be followed by the Guadalupe festival events that are our normal practice for the night before December 12th and leading into the Feast Day itself). His Mission will be entitled: “María nos prepara para el Adviento”. Fr. Gastón is a treasure of the Diocese of Orange, and a much sought after spiritual guide and speaker. It will be a great blessing to have him with us.
Then on December 13th and 14th at 7pm each night we will be blessed with a visit from Fr. Sean Patrick Riley, SThL, JCL, the Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Liverpool in England, who will give us a two-night Advent Mission in English coupled with the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. His talk is entitled: “‘Where is the Love?’ Advent Reflections”. Fr. Sean comes to us all the way from the United Kingdom, and he is a hoot! We can’t wait for him to visit us here at OLG, and you’ll love hearing from him. Not only is he an intelligent and delightful human being, but his accent is a total blast to listen to... he sounds like one of the The Beatles!
Misiones de Adviento
Este año, organizaremos Misiones de Adviento en inglés y español con sacerdotes visitantes que nos guiarán hacia el espíritu de la temporada con charlas inspiradoras y adoración del Santísimo Sacramento. ¡Únase a nosotros mientras nos preparamos para recibir a nuestro Señor y Salvador, Jesucristo, en esta temporada navideña!

El 11 de diciembre, justo antes de nuestra Fiesta Patronal anual de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, con las celebraciones que duran toda la noche y que son nuestra tradición aquí, seremos honrados con la presencia del Padre Gastón Mendiola-Arroyo, vicario parroquial de la Iglesia La Purísima en Orange, quien hablará sobre el papel de María en la preparación para el Adviento y la Navidad, con una misión de Adviento de una noche que comenzará a las 8:30 p.m. (su charla será seguida por la fiesta de Guadalupe, eventos que son nuestra práctica normal para la noche anterior al 12 de diciembre y que preceden al día festivo). Su Misión llevará por título: “María nos prepara para el Adviento”. P. Gastón es un tesoro de la Diócesis de Orange y un guía espiritual y orador muy solicitado. Será una gran bendición tenerlo con nosotros.
Luego, el 13 y 14 de diciembre a las 7 p. m. cada noche seremos bendecidos con la visita del P. Sean Patrick Riley, SThL, JCL, Canciller de la Arquidiócesis de Liverpool en Inglaterra, quien nos dará una Misión de Adviento de dos noches en inglés junto con la adoración del Santísimo Sacramento. Su charla lleva por título: “Where is the Love?’ Advent Reflections”. P. Sean viene a nosotros desde el Reino Unido y ¡es desternillante! Estamos muy felices por que nos visite aquí en OLG y le encantará saber de él. No sólo es un ser humano inteligente y encantador, sino que su acento es una maravilla de escuchar... ¡suena como uno de “The Beatles”!
