Staff Member: Connie Salazar
Connie Salazar is grateful to be a part of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s Music Ministry, once again. As a member of the OLG Youth Choir during her high school and early college years, and through participation in the Adult Choir, her interest in liturgy and music blossomed and called her to pursue and earn a Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in Church Music from Mount St. Mary’s University Los Angeles in 1994. During her 28-year break from OLG, Connie served in several parishes in the Diocese of Orange and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, where she served as Cantor, Music Ministry Assistant, and Music Director.
While still at OLG, Connie and several OLG Music Ministry members were thrilled and blessed to be a part of a larger choir that was formed for the Papal Visit of Pope John Paul II to Los Angeles in 1987 It remains an unforgettable experience.
Connie has recorded three CDs of Catholic and Christian music, as well as provided vocals for recordings of nationally known composers for Catholic music publishers such as OCP, GIA, and others. Her music is currently on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music. She was a member of El Coro de Los Angeles from 1995 to 2001. She also extends her ministry to provide music for church conferences, Days of Recollection, and similar events.
Connie and her husband have a son and a daughter. Their son is a recent college graduate, and their daughter is currently attending college.
