The Liturgy Committee of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, La Habra, recognizes that it is the liturgy through which the faithful are enabled to express in their lives and manifest to others the mystery of Christ and the real nature of the true Church, and that liturgical services are not private functions but celebrations belonging to the Church. Its goal is to ensure that in parish liturgies, following the norms set forth by the Apostolic See and the Bishop of Orange, the faithful will be fully aware of what they are doing, actively engaged in the rite, and enriched by its effects.   [Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, #2, 11, 22 & 26].

The Liturgy Committee also acknowledgtes that the Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, appointed by the Bishop and thus entrusted with the worship life of the parish and to that extent, has the final responsibility for the direction and supervision of the liturgy of the parish.

The responsibility of the Liturgy Committee is to determine the parish worship and prayer needs, as well as oversee the provision of quality liturgical celebrations for the worshipping community, including all Masses, holy day celebrations and other liturgical events. The Liturgy Committee meets five times yearly and consists of the following members: the liturgy coordinator, the pastor, parochial vicars and deacons, the music director, the coordinators (English and Spanish) of the eucharistic ministers, lectors, and ushers, the leader of the art and environment team, the scheduler of the altar servers, and various at-large representatives.

The Liturgy Planning Team, a core group of the Liturgy Committee, directs the process of liturgy planning and preparation.  The team meets twice a month.
