The First Communion preparation process is a two-year program open to elementary and Jr. High students entering the first through eight grades (ages 6-13). Classes generally start in September and end in May of the following year. Parents must register each student every year and provide all necessary forms – registration form, family information, permission slips, and a copy of the child’s Baptismal certificates. If a child is not baptized, please provide a copy of their birth certificate at the time of registration. All students preparing to receive their First Communion must regularly attend Sunday Masses and Holy Days of Obligation with their families.
Catechesis is a life-long learning process and with that in mind, we also offer Post-Communion classes for those students who have celebrated their First Communion until they are eligible for our Confirmation program. All First Communion requirements are contained in the registration packet made available in the summer (June-August) in the Faith Formation Office. |
