Altar Server Ministry

The Altar Server Ministry includes boys and girls in grades four through twelve interested in serving at the Lord's Table by assisting the priest during various liturgical celebrations - Masses, Weddings, etc.  Servers are scheduled on a rotating basis.  Funerals scheduled Monday through Saturday are served by adults, specially trained to assist the presiding priest.  Altar server training is provided yearly.

Members of the adult Altar Server Ministry Committee serve in a variety of roles, including coordinators, sacristan, recruiters, caretakers of server's robes, scheduling of the altar servers, and altar server recognition coordinator.

New members of this Ministry, both youth and adult, are always welcome.
 
September & October Schedule

Please note the following:

  1. We lost a couple of more altar servers this month. In effort to make sure that all groups had at least 4 altar servers, we moved a few of the altar servers to new groups.
  2. Due to reduced number of altar server groups, we also moved one of the groups to the alternating weekend.  You will note that are no longer any “off” weekends.
  3. We need one more altar server for the Labor Day bilingual mass scheduled for September 6, 2010 @ 9am.  We have two servers who have volunteered, but we would like one more.  If you are able to serve this mass, please let us know.

Please remember that if you cannot make your altar serving time for any reason, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.  It is important to make sure that each mass has enough altar servers.
